Liquidnet Student Magazine: Why We Write

By Pacifique Ishimwe, President of Liquidnet Magazine

The idea is to write it so that people hear it and it slides through the brain and goes straight to the heart.
— Maya Angelou

We are exhilarated to share the 2023 edition of the student-produced Liquidnet Magazine with you, the ASYV community. We have no doubt that you are going to enjoy this masterpiece filled with written expressions and emotions made as we embrace the culture of writing, strive for success, and wrap up this academic year of 2022–2023.

When we write, we not only write for fun but express our emotions, educate, inform, and positively criticize. To my brothers and sisters, you may not be good at singing, dancing, or acting. Here is a platform for you to put across your feelings. Write from your heart about an issue affecting the world, about joy and pain, science and tradition. Here, you can name it. The world is missing your ideas.

I greatly thank each student who played a role in bringing this edition to life. We are grateful to our educators who made significant contributions to this magazine and to ASYV for providing us a platform to discover our talents.

As we publish this edition, I would like to let everyone know that each one of us has dreams that they would love to turn into reality. These can be concretized through writing them and then vehemently working towards them.
