How Our Kids Are Building A Thriving Future: Our New Report

Dear Friends.

Each day, when I enter the Village, the power of our Agahozo-Shalom Youth Village (ASYV) family inspires me. Together, we are building a thriving future for our students, Rwanda, and the world.

That power is reflected in Building a Thriving Future Together, our annual report covering the 2024–2025 school year. In the report, you'll find the voices of many of our family members, including students, alumni, and staff. ASYV alum Ferdinand Turatsinze, who graduated from ASYV in 2015 before receiving a bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and a master’s degree from University of Notre Dame, tells us, “Agahozo shaped the foundation of who I am today. They helped me heal from past traumatic experiences and gave me the opportunity to just be a kid again."

You'll read that an analysis led by faculty at Tulane University proves that ASYV is having the transformative impact on our young people that Ferdinand describes. You’ll also read how our gender equity work, our holistic trauma-informed curriculum, our educators’ innovative strategies, and more are helping our students and graduates thrive inside and outside the Village.
